Hazel, a lovable pit bull, sadly suffered from neglect for almost ten years. Her owner continued to breed her and sell her puppies, leaving Hazel alone and unattended. The never-ending cycle of breeding and disregard was heartbreaking, but fortunately, Hazel finally escaped this harsh reality.
Mr. Bones & Co., an animal rescue group, recently introduced Hazel to their social media followers. According to the post, Hazel was surrendered by her owner and taken in by Animal Care & Control of NYC.
For almost ten years, Hazels was kept in a backyard breeding scheme that caused her severe neglect. Her owner utilized her solely for producing puppies and failed to provide her with adequate care. When the time came that she couldn’t bear pups anymore, they abandoned her at the shelter.
A senior pitbull named Hazel, who was around 8 to 9 years old, had a tough time due to her blindness and severe medical conditions. Her chances of getting adopted were low, and many shelters would have opted for euthanasia. However, Mr. Bones & Co. decided to take care of her and help her find a loving home where she could spend her remaining years with comfort and joy.
According to the rescue, this senior dog, who is blind and kind-hearted, is facing numerous difficulties in life but still manages to show appreciation and love to everyone she encounters. The rescue team is determined to nurse her back to health and find her a loving forever home.
According to them, Hazel had lost her sight as a result of cataracts that developed when she was still a young pup. In addition to her blindness, she was also struggling with a number of health issues including malnourishment, diabetes, an infected leg wound, a urinary tract infection, anemia, and a serious heart condition known as grade three heart murmur.
Hazel had to go through numerous medical check-ups, change foster homes thrice and live with a lot of uncertainty. Fortunately, Mr. Bones & Co. recently shared some amazing news that Hazel finally found her forever home!
According to a Facebook post, a Massachusetts-based couple discovered the individual and began monitoring their development. Eventually, they decided to apply for adoption.
According to the source, the family who adopted Hazel was more concerned about her well-being than her medical needs. Even if her vision never returned and she needed daily insulin shots, they were willing to take care of her. The family spent a few weeks with Hazel to ensure that they were a good match for each other. To their surprise, Hazel fit into their family perfectly. They welcomed her into their home, and she’s now living her best life.
After living in darkness for years, HAZEL now has her full site back and can play with her new brother. She is also able to see the faces of her family and feel their love and warmth.
